In July 2014, YU Zhengsheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of CPPCC, conducted an investigation on the synergetic development among eco-environment, economy and people's livelihood in the Kubuqi Desert, emphasizing to “make efforts to achieve a virtuous circle between ecological protection and economic development, as well as organic unity between economic benefits and ecological benefits”.
